Review of the webinars on international tax law 2023 with Thomas Hug
For the first time, ISIS 2023 held a webinar series on international tax law. We look back on the successful first edition with moderator and director Thomas Hug.

Dear Thomas, what has been your experience with the new webinar series "International Tax Law"?

The new format has been very well received by the participants! It allows them to find out about important developments in international tax law four times a year for 90 minutes at lunchtime, regardless of their location. If it is not possible to attend at short notice, the presentations can be viewed at any time over a four-week period.

What were the key takeaways from the webinar series?

Swiss taxes are becoming increasingly international. On the one hand, issues often have an international dimension, as the presentation by Michelle Hug-Fahrni and Patrick Allemann on new forms of work showed. On the other hand, we are increasingly having to adapt our national tax law to international regulations, as the virtual panel discussion with Peter Brülisauer, René Matteotti and Andreas Wurster on the future of Switzerland as a tax location illustrated. It is essential for every tax lawyer to be informed about developments in international tax law.

Is there one moment in particular that sticks in your mind?

René Matteotti took part in the webinar from Miami. Due to the time difference, we were able to witness the sunrise in the USA at noon.

The webinar will also be held in 2024. What topics will be covered?

Once again, I have tried to put together a broad mix of topics presented by selected experts. In February, we will start with a presentation on real estate, followed by an update on current court decisions and practical cases in transfer pricing in May. This will be followed in the fall by an exciting presentation on trends and developments in permanent establishments. Finally, the series will conclude in November with well-known pitfalls and new issues in the DTA Germany. Registration is possible immediately. If you register for all four presentations at the same time, you will receive an attractive special price.

Thank you very much for your commitment, dear Thomas. ISIS would also like to thank all the speakers for their great commitment and the exciting webinars: Nils Harbeke, Patrick Scherrer, Michelle Hug-Fahrni, Patrick Allemann, Balthasar Denger, Stefano Bernasconi, Peter Brülisauer, René Matteotti and Andreas Wurster.
